We are two transplants to sunny South Carolina from the not-so-sunny Pacific Northwest. We've been here eight years now, the last two at the beach.

There's just something about the ocean. Every morning, rain or shine, summer or winter, Bill takes the dogs for a sunrise walk on the beach. It's as much a habit for him as it is for them.

Bill took the photo above at Garden City Beach on one of his early-morning sojorns.

Perhaps Jimmy Buffet expressed it best about life in a warm climate.

These changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes;

Family Cookbook

We are now publishing our entire family cookbook on the Internet. Previous publications omitted three chapters:

• Soups

The Holiday Recipes and Warming Winter Recipes sections are compilations of other chapters rather than free-standing chapters.
