Photos of San Antonio

We thought we'd get a little more down home and share some photos from our own country for a change. Texas is unique, and a trip to the Lonestar State is definitely an adventure. We took these photos about six or seven years ago.

Remember the Alamo! The history books don't tell you, however, that it's now in the middle of a business district. Where else but Texas would you see a pair of cowboy boots 50 feet tall?

Texas is full of old Spanish missions. We went to a Mariachi Mass at the mission above. Here's another mission.

Texas also has caves and caverns. This fried egg formation is in a cavern about midway between San Antonio and Austin. Since the Rio Grande was there anyway, it made good sense to make it a destination. The Riverwalk is lined with shops and restaurants for a couple of miles in downtown San Antonio.

Fiesta Texas is a theme park just outside of San Antonio. Every theme park worth its salt needs a few water rides---especially in a climate like San Antonio's!
